Financial Operations’ Supply Management department is pleased to welcome Jennifer Farr, who will be leading the unit’s new Strategic Sourcing team. The team, which has been created as part of Financial Operations’ procurement modernization initiative, will identify and implement opportunities to deliver value by leveraging UBC’s buying power and establishing preferred vendors and contracts to make buying easier, faster, and more cost-effective.
Jennifer is a CPA with many years of experience in strategic procurement, supplier management, financial planning and analysis, and process improvement. She joins the university from ICBC, where she served as Manager of the Supplier Management Office, a role in which she designed and implemented a supplier governance department, including tools, processes, qualification, and performance standards for supplier programs.
Jennifer and her team will be working closely with faculties and administrative units to identify and implement opportunities to ensure the best sourcing strategies are identified, and the resulting contracts meet user requirements and deliver value to UBC.
