Working with our friends in UBC Central Communication’s Web Services team, we now have a new look for VPFO News. You’ll notice that we’ve made some changes to make our newsletter a bit more compressed and easier to scan as well as preparing it to work with our new content management system behind the scenes. UBC’s Campus Energy Centre has won the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada’s 2019 Green Building Award, and it is the only building in BC to be recognized in this year’s Awards of Excellence.

UBC Finance website improvements coming in July
Following user feedback, we’ve identified elements to improve usability, navigation, and content on the finance.ubc.ca website. Watch for changes in July.
Financial Operations opens new satellite location in Wesbrook Village
The new space is needed as a result of significant growth within Financial Operations, brought about by the Procurement Modernization initiative and the successful development of a new Service Delivery Model for UBC.
Campus Security returns to renovated office space
Campus Security has moved back into their newly remodelled office space at at 2133 East Mall. The renovations provide for a more welcoming visitor environment and improved workspaces for staff.
IRP finance stream resources available
IRP has a library of their current presentations, call-ins, and backgrounders for the finance stream of the IRP so you can keep up with rapid pace of the project as we countdown to go-live April next year. In the Okanagan? Don’t forget Workday Wednesdays has their materials online as well.

Ryan Huffman appointed Sr. Project Manager, Project Services with Infrastructure Development
As the successful candidate for the Senior Project Manager position, Ryan will be leading the newly formed Campus Infrastructure team, developing and delivering a portfolio of infrastructure projects, and managing client and vendor relationships within this portfolio.
Two new Project Managers join Infrastructure Development’s Project Services
Nadine Anseeuw joins Project Services from Integral Group and AME Consulting Group where she held positions as a mechanical designer and sustainability consultant. Hilde Schepens started at Project Services in April 2019, joining us from Chris Dikeakos Architects Inc. in Burnaby where she held a position as a Senior Architect, managing projects from design through to construction.
Two new appointments in the Treasury Department
The VPFO is pleased to welcome Otto Wong to his role as Manager, Cash, and Olivia Wong to her position as the Treasury’s newest Financial Analyst. Otto and Olivia each have a wealth of experience, both at UBC and outside of the university, that they bring to these roles.

The Building Operations is pleased to announce Nikii Hoglund as the successful applicant for Director, Asset Replacement and Improvements position effective July 8, 2019.
Dale Low joins UBC as Municipal Manager of Soft Landscape in Building Operations
Dale joins UBC from the City of Vancouver where he led a team of program coordinators and support staff responsible for business uses of streets and sidewalks.
