Bryan Archibald is new Manager of Maintenance Planning in Facilities, Building Operations

Since joining UBC in 2012, Bryan Archibald has progressed through his career with his most recent role as Head Millwright. Bryan’s knowledge and familiarity with the numerous complex building systems on campus has steadily grown and his desire to continuously improve our preventative maintenance programs is demonstrated by initiatives he developed in vibration analysis and improving our asset information.

Bryan is a Red Seal Millwright as well as a Fourth Class Power Engineer and has been working in the trade for over 15 years. Bryan is currently working towards his Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) designation as endorsed by the Plant Engineering & Maintenance Association of Canada (PEMAC).

With support of his team of maintenance project coordinators, Bryan will be responsible for facilitating the outcome from those responsible for preventative and predictive maintenance programs with a goal of developing robust programs that include regulatory compliance, staffing requirements, inventory solutions, process and procedure development and performance measures. Bryan will be heavily involved in supporting and designing the desired future state of our preventive maintenance work processes in Planon.
