It’s one month to go-live for Workday, Planon and the Integrated Service Centre

Over the past two years, we have been accelerating towards a renewal of our key business systems. While there are efforts underway across UBC, the VPFO team has been particularly involved in implementing three large pieces of this project:

This week, we are only one month away from our November 2 go-live date for all three projects.

I understand this implementation has not been an easy task. By now we can all see the magnitude of this effort, as each of us has learned new software and skills to prepare for go-live. I want to thank you and recognize the huge effort of both the project teams and each of you as we make the final push.

Our continued collective engagement in training and other start-up preparations are critical for a smooth and successful implementation. For those of you who prefer to take your training right before go-live, the time is now. Training and upcoming project milestones are available online at your earliest convenience:

I know the next several months will have some rocky moments and this amount of change will always be challenging. As we reach go-live and move through to stabilization, our success will be a shared one — one that will require strong collaboration across the community, both now and well after November 2. To encourage our teamwork, Professor Ono and the IRP team have created a short video to encourage us.

I want to thank you for your patience and compassion with each other as we adapt together. Over time, our portfolio and the UBC community will settle into these new ways of working and set the foundation for our future success as an organization.
