Good leaders are often perceived to be extroverts, which may bias decision-making during a recruitment process and may impact inclusivity in the workplace. It’s important to first understand what the difference is between an extrovert, introvert, and ambivert.

Thunderbird Boulevard multi-phase road closures: November 29, 2021 to August 2022

As part of the  UBC Renewable Energy Hub project, the Hydrogen Refueling Station will begin construction on Thunderbird Boulevard this week. During this project, there will be multi-phase road closures along Thunderbird Boulevard in effect between November 20, 2021 to the end of August 2022.

Chris Bastien joins as the Finance Services Manager

As the Finance Services Manager, Chris will play a vital role in leading the Finance Services Team to support our Community in Finance Period End activities, and the improvement of Workday’s processes. Heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) line near the Bioenergy Facility back in commission

Last week, Energy & Water Services (EWS) steamfitters completed another repair on the District Energy System (DES) network off the Bioenergy Research Facilities (Bioenergy Facility). This repair was needed as this particular heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) line has been out of commission for over a year.

Major milestone in the Bioenergy Research Demonstration Facility expansion project

The Bioenergy Research Demonstration Facility (BRDF) is burning biomass once again! The Energy & Water Services Thermal Operations Team re-lit the biomass gasification system on November 10, 2021, and the BRDF is now producing renewable thermal energy for the Academic District Energy System (ADES).
