Extroverts, introverts, ambiverts

Good leaders are often perceived to be extroverts, which may bias decision-making during a recruitment process and may impact inclusivity in the workplace. It’s important to first understand what the difference is between an extrovert, introvert, and ambivert.

To help you learn more about yourself, organizational psychologist Adam Grant has created the quiz: Are you an extrovert, introvert or ambivert?

Author Susan Cain is planning a Quiet Revolution.

In Susan’s TED 2012: The power of introverts, she spoke up for introverts, pointing out the many ways our culture encourages extroversion. “I wasn’t prepared for the intensity and voracity of response to these ideas,” Cain tells the TED Blog two years later. “There’s an enormous hunger for recognition, understanding and advancement.”

Susan Cain is even working towards creating office spaces that foster the needs of introverts — learn more on TED Blog.
