Facilities
Building Operations, Custodial Services, Customer Services & Informatics, Energy & Water Services, Infrastructure Development, and Municipal Services
- UBC Okanagan Skeena Residence becomes the first Passive House-certified student residence in Canada: Skeena Residence has successfully earned its Passive House Certification, making it the first student residence in Canada and second in North America to receive this globally recognized certification. - Identifying 2023 Learning Space Improvement projects: The Learning Spaces team is in the process of working with faculties to assess the proposals for 2023 summer renovations. These proposals will be prioritized at the June Learning Spaces Advisory Committee meeting. Stay tuned for more information to come.
- Interim period between Terms: The last day of the Winter session is April 28 and summer Term 1 will begin on May 16. Facilities is maximizing this period of time between Winter Term 2 and Summer 2022 Term 1 to complete maintenance work in classroom spaces.

- May Period-End Dates: May period end dates are now available on the UBC Finance website as a PDF and in a rolling list on the Month End / Year End Important Dates feed.

- Masks required in UBC public indoor spaces until June 30: UBC has made the decision to extend the requirement to wear masks until June 30, 2022. Units may contact safety.risk@ubc.ca if disposable masks are required.
- Transitioning from COVID-19 Safety Plans to a Communicable Disease Prevention Framework: UBC will replace the current seven institutional plans, with a single plan to cover all campus activities, effective May 1, 2022. More information will be shared on the Safety & Risk Services website next week. Learn more
