Updates to Sick Time Off in Workday

Sick Time Off Eligibility for Hourly Employees

On May 24, eligibility for sick time accruals (sick time earned) will be updated in Workday to align with the collective agreements for hourly employees in CUPE 116 (Auxiliary only), CUPE 2950, BCGEU Childcare, and BCGEU Okanagan Support Staff (Auxiliary only). Hourly employees in these groups must work a minimum number of days within a certain timeframe in order to be eligible to accrue sick time off, which is calculated based on hours.

Sick Time Off Accrual for Management & Professional Group

Employees in the Management anad Professional (M&P) group will now stop accruing Paid Sick Time Off in Workday once they pass their probationary period, to align with their sick leave plan. Employees who incorrectly accrued Paid Sick Time Off past their probation period end date in 2021 or 2022 won’t see this balance reset until the next calendar year (2023).

See Workday This Week for details.
