The team is busily preparing for the annual budget presentation to the UBC Board of Governors in mid-April. The budget process follows a familiar pattern each year—starting with consultations across campus in the fall and ending when the board approves the new year’s budget in April.
Building Operations is one of the few departments that touch every part of the university every day. Often the blue personal protective equipment can fade into the background colour of a busy campus. The Old Student Union Building (now named UBC Life Building), located at the geographic heart of the campus, is being re-purposed now that the AMS has moved into the UBC Student Nest. The Old SUB ballroom has been converted into a lecture hall that can seat 294 students.
