New leadership roles in the VPFO

As part of our continued efforts to strengthen strategic alignment and operational excellence across the VPFO, we will be initiating two key recruitment processes in the coming weeks.

First, we are establishing a new position: Managing Director, Strategy Planning and Performance. This senior leadership role will integrate our HR, Communications, Change Management, and Strategic/Performance Planning functions under a single unit to better align strategy, people, and execution. The Managing Director will serve as a key advisor and integrator across the VPFO, supporting the delivery of our shared priorities and advancing a culture of accountability and collaboration.

Second, we will be recruiting for a redefined Associate Vice-President, Finance role (formerly Comptroller). We are continuing our strategic workforce planning efforts, with focus on organizational planning and service optimization. This work will ensure we are structuring, investing in and evolving our services in the ways that best support the University’s priorities and position us well for the future. We will engage the advice of subject matter experts and incorporate leading practices and an objective perspective on how our teams operate most effectively. Both roles are critical to ensuring that the VPFO continues to operate effectively, strategically, and in full alignment with institutional goals. Recruitment will begin shortly, and we will keep you informed as these processes move forward.

Thank you for your continued leadership and support as we move through these important transitions.
