Search for a new Associate Vice-President, Finance
In December, I shared that the VPFO would be recruiting a redefined Associate Vice-President, Finance role (formerly Comptroller) to reflect the expanding scope and complexity of financial oversight at the university.
Since then, we have engaged an external consultant to conduct an independent review of our current Finance organizational structure within the VPFO portfolio and to assess future-state design options. This work builds on the strong foundation already in place and identifies opportunities to further strengthen alignment, accountability, and service delivery. The resulting structure reflects leading practices while addressing the specific context and needs of the university.
We are now ready to launch the search for an AVP, Finance. The position will report to me, with a dotted-line relationship to Gage Averill, Provost and Vice-President, Academic.
The role
The redefined AVP, Finance will provide strategic leadership and oversight of financial services across the institution, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, capital planning and accounting, controls, financial reporting, and finance operations.
The role will continue to steward our integrated distributed financial model across all faculties and administrative portfolios, ensuring consistent financial practices, policies, and standards, while enabling informed, strategic decision-making that supports institutional priorities and fiscal integrity.
Thank you for your continued commitment and collaboration as we move forward.
