A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our 9th annual Pink Shirt Day on February 25 and 28, 2026! 💗

VPFO colleagues came together at each shifts’ events to celebrate kindness, inclusion, and our shared strength as a community. The main event kicked off at 10:30 am, and it was wonderful to see so many people connecting and thoughtfully engaging with the event.

This year’s theme, “Kindness Comes Full Circle,” reminded us that even the smallest acts of care can create meaningful ripple effects. From everyday gestures between colleagues to broader impacts across our teams and community, the theme highlighted how kindness has a way of coming back around and making our workplace stronger along the way.

A highlight of the event was a message from John-Tyler Binfet, Associate Professor of Education at UBC and a leading researcher on kindness and wellbeing. Dr. Binfet shared insights on “Quiet Kindness,” emphasizing that small, often unseen acts build trust, strengthen relationships, and positively shape workplace culture.

A special thank you to the VPFO Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee for organizing such a thoughtful and meaningful event. Your efforts helped create a moment for connection, reflection, and celebration of the kindness we strive to bring into our work every day.
