Welcome to the VP Finance & Operations portfolio


The nine divisions of the VPFO are responsible for the stewardship of UBC’s physical and financial assets, as well as safety and risk management for our university community.

We oversee a $3.98 billion budget, a $3.38 billion endowment, and all facilities on both campuses, as well as managing the university’s relationships with UBC Investment Management and UBC Properties Trust. In all the portfolio’s responsibilities, we are committed to the values of innovation, unity and accountability.

  • Enrolment remains strong at UBC

    Student enrolment numbers remain strong this fall at UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan—a sign of the university’s stellar academic reputation. Students are keenly interested in achieving their educational ambitions at UBC, despite challenges posed by COVID-19.

    This new communication will be sent each Friday to consolidate and streamline communications to UBC’s finance community from our central finance functions.

  • Get Ready for Hyperion 2.0

    To support planning and forecasting activities within Workday, a new instance of Hyperion has been created — Hyperion 2.0. To help prepare UBC’s finance community, Hyperion 2.0 workshops have been scheduled for September and October.
