The nine divisions of the VPFO are responsible for the stewardship of UBC’s physical and financial assets, as well as safety and risk management for our university community.

We oversee a $3.98 billion budget, a $3.38 billion endowment, and all facilities on both campuses, as well as managing the university’s relationships with UBC Investment Management and UBC Properties Trust. In all the portfolio’s responsibilities, we are committed to the values of innovation, unity and accountability.

  • University cheque mailing resuming as normal starting December 17

    Canada Post has announced it is resuming operations on Tuesday, December 17. All cheques produced for students, employees, and suppliers that were held for pickup at UBC during the postal strike will be mailed out with immediate effect.

  • Why your net pay may be lower in January

    Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Employment Insurance (EI) deductions have a yearly maximum earnings limit. Once these limits are reached during the calendar year, the deductions stop for the rest of the calendar year. Learn more on the Finance website.
