March 13th marks the official start of Frank Laezza’s tenure with UBC as our new Vice-President, Finance & Operations. As a strong believer in connected leadership, Frank is looking forward to working across UBC and leading the VPFO team of 1400+ people in the oversight of UBC’s core financial, facilities, and safety functions, across both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.
Reporting directly to the President and Vice-Chancellor, Frank serves as a key member of UBC’s executive leadership team. He represents the VPFO in working with diverse constituencies across the university, as well as with external partners, to support and amplify UBC’s academic mission through the stewardship and continuous improvement of the university’s physical and financial assets.
As part of his role, Frank also serves as a member of UBC’s Board of Governors, and oversees the university’s relationships with both UBC Investment Management, which manages the university’s endowment and staff pension plan, and UBC Properties Trust, which develops and manages real estate assets for the long-term benefit of the university community.
In the coming weeks Frank will be meeting with the VPFO team and learning about how we work through a variety of cross-functional events — please take advantage of these opportunities to meet Frank and to connect with each other as the details become available!
To learn more about Frank, read his full bio on the VPFO website, or catch up on some information he shared about himself last week.
