What we do matters, and our work contributes to the success of UBC
Over the past two weeks, our portfolio hosted five VPFO Day events (UBCV main; UBCV morning, night, and evening shifts; and UBCO) to create opportunities for our diverse teams to meet, connect and learn about our portfolio’s direction. We appreciate everyone’s involvement and enthusiasm; with special thanks to those who stayed on the job so that others could attend.
During the events, our VP Finance & Operations, Frank Laezza walked us through our refreshed VPFO Strategic Plan, shared recent achievements from our portfolio, and introduced our portfolio’s new look and feel — a visual representation of the many pathways and connections between the VPFO’s divisions and how our portfolio, teams and people actively build the framework that supports the university.
You are part of the framework we create for UBC
At the main event, we engaged in a huge team activity to help illustrate how everyone in our portfolio works together. The activity used a set of printed tiles in our new look and feel to build a fun model of our portfolio and its many connections. Everyone could see how the VPFO’s many touchpoints create a framework of pathways opportunities for innovation and connection throughout the portfolio and throughout UBC. While our work often operates out of the limelight, each of us is an essential piece in the big picture — whatever path you’re on, whatever connections you’ve made, we all have a part to play in advancing UBC.
Which leadership vision resonates with you?
Ballot boxes were set up with leadership vision statements at the events. Each of these statements were written by one of the VPFO senior leadership, and we asked you to enter for a chance to win lunch with the leadership statement you resonated with the most. If you’re curious about which VPFO senior leader you selected, head over to the VPFO leadership page and read each of their statements.
