Facilities – Building Operations, Energy & Water Services, and Infrastructure Development

  • Looking ahead to Fall 2020: It has been encouraging to see the gradual resumption of research, programs, and activities on campus in accordance with UBC’s COVID-19 Safety Planning Framework. Read more about what to expect over the coming months for Facilities from AVP Facilities, John Metras.

Finance – Comptroller, Finance & Operational Excellence, and Treasury

  • UBC Budget: The University budget for 2020/21 was approved by the Board of Governors last week, and is now available on the UBC Finance website.
  • Financial Statements: The Comptroller’s Team is working on the Financial Information Act report, as well as converting UBC’s Consolidated Financial Statements to US GAAP for the audit.

Safety & Risk Services

  • Safety & Risk Services COVID-19 Safety Plan approved: The COVID-19 Safety Plan for Safety & Risk Services has been approved and is now available on the SRS webpage.
  • Greenhouse Gas Reporting completed: Working in partnership with Energy and Water Services, the SRS Environmental Protection team recently completed one of its major annual environmental compliance reports for UBC operations.

FILMING RETURNS TO UBC CAMPUS

With filming on campus paused since mid-March due to COVID-19 health and safety restrictions, UBC’s Film & Events Office is pleased to welcome back film and television productions to campus this month. New COVID-19 safety protocols for filming will ensure filming resumes in a safe manner. For more information, visit the Campus & Community Planning website.

7th ANNUAL UBC (VIRTUAL) CHEF CHALLENGE

For the first time, chefs from UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver will face-off in a highly anticipated kitchen battle. Cheer on chefs and vote for your favourite creation from the comforts of your own home. Watch the action and vote online from July 30 to August 8, 2020. To learn more, visit UTown@UBC.
