Caroline Macleod is the successful candidate for the recently posted permanent role, Executive Secretary for Energy & Water Services (EWS). Caroline brings a wealth of experience to this position, and has been instrumental in supporting the department in transitioning to the new Workday and Planon enterprise systems.
Caroline joined UBC in 1998 as a Financial Clerk in the Finance Department for Land & Building Services (now Building Operations and Energy & Water Services). In 2010, she was promoted to lead and manage the newly created clerical pool at Building Operations, and was later promoted as the Executive Secretary for Building Operations. In this role, she helped streamline processes, created standards and consistency in scheduling safety training, developed and expanded the Kids to Work Day Program, and organized the first Ice Cream Social for Building Operations. In 2019, she joined Energy & Water Services as the Executive Secretary on a temporary basis to cover for an extended leave.
Caroline has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management Engineering from De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines, and has taken training courses in project management and change management.
