Building Operations, Energy & Water and Infrastructure Development
- Building Seismic Resilience at MOA: MOA has begun preparations for a rebuild of its iconic Great Hall to upgrade the resiliency of the space and protect its irreplaceable collection in the event of a major earthquake.

- Leadership Change in Building Operations: Effective November 16, Greg Scott has left UBC. John Metras will be directly supporting the Building Operations teams as they continue to evolve their critical functions for the campus community.

Comptroller, Finance & Operational Excellence and Treasury
- Reminder – Hyperion 2.0 Goes Live Dec 1: The Budget Office and the finance community is preparing for Hyperion 2.0 go-live on December 1. A number of training sessions have been held over the past few months and resources are available on the Finance website.
- Receiving in Workday: Please be reminded that goods/services need to be “Received” in Workday in order for related PO-based invoices to be paid.
- Payroll Updates: The semi-monthly Payroll calendar for the remainder of 2020 is now available on the Finance website. Please also be reminded that portfolios for payroll representatives have also been updated based on faculties and administrative units, so that administrators now have a single point of contact.
- Grants Dashboard Access: Please note that the Workday Research Grants Dashboard and Grants Reports are now available.
- Leadership Change in Treasury: Effective November 16, Tor Album has left UBC. James Heth, Assistant Treasurer, will have direct oversight for debt management, contracts, leasing and faculty housing loans within Treasury, reporting directly to Treasurer, Yale Loh.

Integrated Renewal Program, Application Ecosystem Program and the Integrated Service Centre
- Workday this Week: The ISC has introduced a channel for news about Workday, answers to common questions, information about known issues and resolutions, and scheduled maintenance times. Find it on UBC’s Self-Service Portal.
- Payslips for the Nov 13 pay day are available in Workday: Review the Understanding your pay in Workday knowledge base article for an overview of available support.
- Professional Development fund claim submissions and viewing entitlements now available: Visit the Integrated Service Centre for Workday resources and support, including how to submit claims and view your PD Funds entitlement. Visit the Professional Development Funding page for guidelines about PD Funds.

- External Review of Campus Security: As part of UBC’s commitment to address systemic bias and build a more inclusive university, we are embarking on an independent external review of Campus Security. Take the survey by November 22.

Other notable updates
SRS COVID-19 Site Visit Results
Over the last few months members of the Occupational & Research Health & Safety team have been carrying out COVID-19 site visits, to assess the safety measures implemented as part of COVID-19 Safety Planning, and provide recommendations where needed. Statistics from the visits suggest that local safety planners were very good at following the measures outlined in the plan with the majority of metrics at 90 per cent or higher.
