- Upcoming road closures on UBC Vancouver campus: There are a number of road closures on the UBC Vancouver campus in the coming weeks. Review the details on the Facilities website to plan your routes accordingly.
- Construction on campus: The June 2022 Infrastructure Development/ Properties Trust construction project map is now available on the Facilities website.
- Loefe Café opens in the Henry Angus Building: The Loafe Café officially opened last week in the Henry Angus Building, replacing the Sauder Exchange Café.

- Updated credit card request forms in Workday: Financial Operations and the ISC have recently updated two Credit Card request forms in Workday: Credit Card Request | Limit Change and Credit Card Request | Application, to improve clarity and guidance as well as help reduce the number of revised requests. - May 2022 interest rates: The May 2022 interest rates are now updated and available on the UBC Finance website.

- Displacing the residents from the Silverlynn Apartment fire: The Emergency Preparedness team within Safety & Risk Services welcomed 10 displaced individuals from Silverlynn Apartment to Gage Residence last Friday.
- Campus Security attended to injuries from motor vehicle accident in Botanical Garden: Last week, Campus Security was notified of a severe motor vehicle accident at the Botanical Gardens where three children were injured. Our patrol officers provided preliminary First Aid and traffic and access control while emergency services were on route.

- Caroline Macleod has been promoted to Executive Assistant to Associate Vice-President, Facilities. Caroline will be the primary contact person for John Metras, Interim Vice-President, Operations.

- Starting today, Sean Lynch steps into role as Acting Director for Custodial Services in Facilities. Congrats, Sean!
- Peter Smailes’ last day at UBC was May 31. Thank you to Peter for his 30 years of service and valued leadership, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic at UBC. We wish you all the best!

Celebrating Pride Month at UBC
June is Pride Month. It’s a time when we celebrate the diversity of LGBTQ+ communities, while acknowledging the long-standing fight for equality and justice. It is also an opportunity for us to reflect on and consider what each of us can do individually, and institutionally, to be inclusive — so that we all feel welcome and can fully access, participate, and thrive in all aspects of university life.

New resources in the Activating Inclusion Toolkit
The Activating Inclusion Toolkit supports units across UBC in incorporating equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) into their strategic planning, priority initiatives, and systems and structures more broadly.
New tools recently added include:
- Using Evidence to Advance EDI: Making Sense through Participatory Analysis
- Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion through Systems Change
- Balancing Tensions and Paradoxes in EDI Planning and Action
IRP Student: Introducing the Transition Network
IRP Student has formed the Transition Network to help staff and faculty move from using the classic SIS to the renewed SIS.
Impacts to the UBC community include new ways of working, changes in terminology, data structures, and the renewed system’s look and feel.
This process requires customized transition support planning and implementation. Through the Transition Network, IRP Student will be best positioned to identify the unique needs of our UBC community.
