  • Resources to stay cool and safe: Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Metro Vancouver for the rest of today June 27, 2022 with inland temperatures reaching 34 degrees. Given the current high temperatures, visit the Safety & Risk Services website to find resources to stay cool and safe, and information on heat stress and safety.
  • Self-Isolation and ending isolation for COVID-19: Information on ending isolation if you tested positive and are managing your illness at home is now available on the Safety & Risk Services website.
  • Finance Communications Survey: The VPFO Communications & Engagement team is looking for feedback and suggestions on how we can improve communications within the larger UBC finance community. The 5-minute survey closes on Friday, July 29. Complete the survey
  • New Visibility for Managers on Employees’ Other Positions: Managers and HR Administrators whose teams include an employee with multiple positions will now be able to view more details of that employee’s positions outside of their department/unit. This includes key information such as their FTE, end date, time off, etc. for all active positions. Learn more on Workday This Week

  • Energy & Water Services within Facilities welcomes Ethan Chan as Power Engineer and Nathan Kwong as Relief Shift Team Leader today.
  • The Integrated Services Centre (ISC) welcomes Marlon Lopes and Mariana Gomez as Representatives, ISC Service Centre, and Stivian Valchev as Project Coordinator.
  • Kayleigh Brownhill has transferred from the ISC to the Finance Services team within Finance & Operational Excellence as Business Analyst.
  • Happy Retirement to Debbie Howorko, Benefits Realization Manager in Operational Excellence. Her last day at UBC is June 30. Thank you for the work you’ve done to provide an excellent foundation for current and future Benefits Realization Work at UBC. We wish you all the best!

New Event Series: Workday Webinars

Starting in July 2022, the ISC will be hosting a new series of webinars for experienced Workday users who perform specific roles in Workday, such as managers and administrators. Each session will build on existing knowledge of a specific topic or area of Workday, covering tips, tricks, and common errors.

As the summer is a busy time for hiring, the first two sessions will be for Managers and HR Administrators and focus on recruitment and direct hires. More topics will be added in the future.
