  • Building a net-zero student space on campus: UBC Facilities is working with the UBC student team to start construction of a new student space on campus that redefines sustainable design, and aims to build a net-zero student space on campus. Read more
  • Custodial Services is hiring: UBC Facilities is hiring up to 20 positions for Auxiliary Building Service Workers (6 months term) to join our Custodial Services team. Interested candidates are invited to bring their resume and references, and join us for an On-site Job Fair on July 28-29 (11 am– 2 pm) in the University Services Building. Learn more

  • Rapid Damage Assessment Drill: On June 16, Safety & Risk Services’ Emergency Management team held a drill for 36 staff members across UBC who had completed BC Housing’s Rapid Damage Assessment (RDA) and Coordination of Damage Assessment (CDA) training. Read more
  • Access common reports from the new HR Operational Reports dashboard: Managers and HR Administrators can now find many common reports on the new HR Operational Reports dashboard in Workday. The ISC created this dashboard to allow people to access multiple reports in one place. Learn more

  • Shannon Boychuk has been promoted to Director, Insurance & Loss Prevention with Safety & Risk Services, effective July 1, 2022. Congrats, Shannon!
  • Jason Asnis joined Infrastructure Development within Facilities as Associate Project Manager on July 15.
  • Bryn McColl and Haoting Bu join Facilities as Student Litter Pickers today.
  • Megan Bradfield has joined the Integrated Service Centre (ISC) as a Change and Communications Strategist as of July 12. Megan will be replacing Wendy Feng, Change and Communications Strategist, during her maternity leave, which starts August 12.

From moments of mindfulness at outdoor yoga sessions to lunch hour concerts, a pop-up mini-golf course, and more, UTown@UBC (part of Campus & Community Planning) has planned a summer of free festivities and fun to help you connect, relax, and encourage everyone to enjoy the beautiful UBC campus—together.

All events are free and open to everyone while spaces and supplies last. Hope to see you at the Mall!
