As many of us are beginning our transition into the holidays, I’d like to say a humble thank you to each of you for your inspired efforts to see us through the push to the end of the calendar year. Whether you’re managing the campus risk of world events, keeping a weather eye for snow, putting the cap on calendar expenses and earnings, or the thousands of other critical tasks that make UBC run, you’re making a contribution that matters.
When we return in 2024, we’ll be starting the year on a new foot. Our VPFO team will grow with the addition of UBC’s Enterprise Risk & Assurance team. This strategic transition is part of our ongoing efforts to optimize the university’s organizational structure, enhance operational synergies, and ultimately improve risk-informed decision-making and reporting.
This week, Allen Amyotte, Interim Chief Assurance & Risk Officer will be joining the VPFO senior leadership team to support a more collaborative and integrated approach to this transition. Please join me in welcoming Allen and his entire team as they join us in the new year.
Again, thank you all for the outstanding work you do. Thank you for your support. Thank you for making this an inspiring place to work. Wherever your celebrations take you, I wish you all a safe and happy holiday season.
