Michaela Kelly joins VPFO as Executive Assistant, supporting Rae Ann Aldridge, Executive Director, UBC Safety & Risk Services, as of July 17.
Michaela comes to UBC from the public relations agency Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K), where she provided strategic and integrated communications support to some of Canada’s leading brands across a wide range of sectors. Over the past year, Michaela joined her clients on-site at the Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR) for a four-month assignment, where she provided day-to-day communications assistance required beyond H+K’s issues and crisis mandate.
Prior to her move to British Columbia in 2021, Michaela worked at the RCMP’s National Headquarters in Ottawa for close to five years. During this time she worked in both their National Communications Services and Access to Information & Privacy (ATIP) departments.
Michaela graduated with a Bachelor of Communications & Media Studies from Carleton University, where she was very involved in student life through on-campus jobs and countless extracurricular activities.
In her free time, Michaela enjoys keeping active outdoors, cooking, and finding live music – ideally on a patio with some good company!
