Pam Corrigal steps into new role as Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Financial Reporting

In her new role, Pam will focus on the accurate reporting of our Tangible Capital Assets, which includes working to define Capital within our Faculty/ Department expenses, liaising with working groups around the organization to track project spend, and supporting strategic initiatives for the portfolio.

Colleen Mah and Kyle Fenton promoted to Project Managers in Infrastructure Development within Facilities

Congratulations to Colleen Mah and Kyle Fenton on their promotion to Project Manager I in Project Services within Infrastructure Development. Colleen will continue to spearhead diverse initiatives, including renovations to support the University’s Equity & Diversity goals, and Kyle will be leading complex renovation projects for Energy & Water Services, Faculty of Applied Science, and more.

Tony Ho joins the Procurement Services team within Finance & Integrated Services as temporary Buyer

In his new role, Tony will support UBC IT, VP Academic, and VP Research & Innovation primarily on their procurement needs under $75,000. Tony brings an impressive wealth of experience to our team, having worked in procurement for over a decade, most recently as a strategic procurement manager in Hong Kong.

Pedaling safety: UBC’s newest bike patrol officers

Campus Security has been supporting our newest wave of bike patrol officers, who recently completed a bike patrol training course. This training allows them to continue to monitor and respond to our community’s needs promptly.

Staying safe in the summer weather

As the temperatures rise, learn how to identify signs and symptoms, the risks related to heat-related illnesses and how to protect yourself by completing the Heat Stress Awareness course. It is important to recognize the signs and symptoms early on so that more serious heat disorders can be prevented.

Jacqui comes to UBC from Early Childhood Educators of BC, where she supported the executive director and project manager in providing professional development opportunities, training, and resources for early childhood educators across the province.

Streamlining backfills and recruitment for Custodial Services

Custodial Services will be streamlining the process for identifying backfills and facilitating staff moves and recruitment. This change will help facilitate quicker moves of internal staff who are interested in moving to a new shift, and create a quicker turnaround time for hiring and onboarding new staff to backfill vacant assignments.

Natalie Walliser appointed UBCO’s Director of Infrastructure Development

Natalie will lead and manage the Infrastructure Development function of the campus. This includes overseeing the planning, design, construction, renewal and renovation of all campus facilities and physical infrastructure, encompassing administrative and academic institutional facilities, Student Housing and Athletics.
